DSEA is a leading advocate for high-quality public education in Delaware. One of the many ways in which the organization carries out this advocacy is by promoting and supporting legislation aimed at strengthening our schools, protecting our children, responsibly improving the pay and benefits for educators, and promoting a reliable and responsible evaluation system for educators.
The following content will be updated, as new material becomes available.
The 2017-2018 DSEA legislative guiding principles establishes the focus areas which DSEA will prominently advocate for over the course of the year. This a living document. As new legislation is proposed impacting education, DSEA will use the principles to analyze the legislation and determine how it might impact public education, students, and DSEA members.
DSEA's Office of Government Relations and Political Organizing publishes a bi-weekly newsletter for members. The newsletter, titled Legislative Matters, provides readers with up-to-date information regarding what is happening legislatively in Delaware and across the country. The analysis focuses on how proposed or passed legislation will impact DSEA members and schools/districts overall. A nearly-complete catalog of Legislative Matters is available at:
