Transportation Safety

Our transportation professionals are often the first school staff students see as they start their day.  They are tasked not only with transporting them safely to school but also with monitoring student behavior during transport.  The following articles are just a snapshot at the duties and working conditions of transportation professionals around the country.

Bus Drivers and Bullying Prevention is the first in a series of briefs based on findings from NEA's 2010 Nationwide Study of Bullying: Teachers and ESP Perspectives membership survey. This brief presents data from transportation professionals who participated in the survey and provides practical tips about what can be done to prevent or intervene in bullying situations occurring on the school bus.
