Today is my first day to serve as your President. I am both honored and excited by this opportunity.
Earlier this year, Rich Phillips announced his decision to step down as DSEA-Retired President effective May 1, 2014. Rich accepted a contracted position with the State of Delaware in the Delaware Human Social Services program. He is a Master Trainer for the Matter of Balance program throughout the State. As Past-President, Rich will remain on the DSEA-Retired Board of Directors.
As former Vice-President of DSEA-Retired, I have met many of you at various DSEA-Retired and DSEA events. I was a Senior Secretary in the Capital School District (retired in 2006), and have Associates Degrees in both Business Administration and Clerical. I am very active in various community organizations, as well as my church, and am the proud mother of two grown daughters and the grandmother of four.
As DSEA-Retired President, one of my goals is to continue the membership growth we have experienced through recruitment and retention. I will work with the school districts’ resources to identify and connect with retirement-eligible employees. I will continue to work with current members of DSEA-Retired, providing a voice for your/our concerns.
I encourage you to take an active role in your association. We are always in need of volunteers to serve on committees and/or assist with mailings. Attend a DSEA-Retired event, activity, or meeting. Remember to use the discounts that you receive through NEA/DSEA Member Benefts!
I look forward to working with you, and on behalf of you. My contact information is below; please feel free to get in touch with me.
